Just as a follow up, last week a few of us met, spur of the moment, to discuss farm teams. There was some concerns over the purpose of the division and how to resolve some issues.

Basically, there were a couple different viewpoints. Some people understand the farm teams to be in existence for rookie training only. Others want availability for more seasoned players to get in practice or extra training. So I think we first should make sure all managers have the same goal in mind.

My understanding of it was it was for rookies to learn to handle the puck and get a feel for the game. I suggested scheduled veterans' scrimmages for the purpose of seasoned players getting in practice or training. (This should also be covered to some extent with team practices, but of course, a team practice doesn't really give you that full game effect which is so important) I did schedule several of these (see calendar) and if that will help, I will definitely keep doing it!

I'm trying to back off a bit from farm and just let the primary coaches handle it so other views/discussion can be held here, I thought it would be helpful to get the thread started.

At first the Buschwackers (the Pro players)..... were a little overwhelming, particularly when in the first game they lit Jack the gigantic 5 hole goalie up for 5 goals.... within a minute, (lol no offense I hope Jack!) but now, it's GREAT experience.

So perhaps the first couple games could be rookies only, and then bring the vets in to amp up the learning curve. Last night we beat a buschwacker laden team with a lot of rookies. WOOT

I agree. The point (IMO) was to get the rookies up to speed, not scare them away with showboating (Gunner, Balls ). Otherwise, I think this league was a great idea. We're really seeing some great talent progression and I can't wait to see when each rookie goes pro!

Well you both make different points Balls was on Def and never scored 1 goal during the season and isnt a regular or isnt being kept prob where as Gunner was more experienced then his number of games played but you can say the same for Liesa who is being kept and Mili but if you took these players out the 4 team camp becomes a 2 team camp and not alot of fun.

The goal should be for coaches to give others a shot at forward if gunner or balls or whoever scores afew try them all.

No one said she wasnt a rookie but she is a skilled player and some people think game play or experience become an issue. The case be she is a rookie that was never questioned if you would stop and read just stating she is a skilled player and other players like gunner or balls or the list who did play some in season 4 were needed to allow you or Mili or others to have this farm league.

Fury, I don't mean to start anything, but when you said
Liesa who is being kept and Mili
it at least sounds like you're not calling her a rookie. You should clarify that.

Well i would have said it like this Liesa and Mili who are being kept. I just mentioned the 2 of them because they have been 2 of the players as well as some others who have been standing out.
