SEASON 6 WILL BEGIN 9/9/08!
This coming week, teams will have a chance to play each other team for a taste of what S6 may bring. It's a lot of games crammed into one week, but should be a good time. Please check the schedule for days and times. Refs are not scheduled. During this time we also need to do REF TRAINING with the new HUD. All persons on the ref list are expected to show up for scrims and/or exhibition games at least a couple times to get Ref training. Remember, if a team fails to provide 2-3 refs for training, that team cannot play season games until they do, so it's real important to get your new and old refs out there to learn the new HUD. Much was discussed at the captains meeting this week. Each team will play each other 7 times during regular season. Playoffs will consist of the top 3 teams at regular season end. Teams 2 and 3 will faceoff in round 1, and the winner of that will go on to challenge Team 1 for the S6 Cup. The season schedule will be out this week also.

Congratulations Whales on your victory today in the Linden Cup playoff series! In an exciting match-up against regular season winners the Moose, the Whales won best of 7 in 5 games. Both teams are congratulated in fine performances and victories this season.
All teams are to be congratulated as well for your outstanding efforts this season! It was an especially challenging season, with the introduction of Havok and the script changes secondary to that. We had some rough spots but I am proud of everyone hanging in there. With the hours Dyz has put into refining this current script, we are in for a treat in Season 6. If you haven't had a chance to play with the new script, be sure to come by the rink any day at 5pm SLT for scrimmages. People have been having a blast with it and are very excited for the next season.
Deadline for saving players: Friday night at 5pm. We have only two teams that have indicated their saves on the forum draft section. Captains will need some time to consider their upcoming choices. Draft is SUNDAY. Importantly, don't forget the All-Stars game this coming Saturday! Merrik is hard at work on jerseys and planning. Then, we have the formal Awards Ceremony Saturday night and hope to see ALL PLAYERS there! woot! Honoria and Naida have been working on special arrangements for this. Vivienne and I will be your humble hosts. The league thanks all of you for your help!
It's hard to believe it's going on 3 years and 6 seasons. Running something like this requires the help of many people, and this league shows its individual and team commitments with the longetivity and success we see out there. I hope Season 6 will be the best yet. See you all soon!

Captains please start talking to your teams about refs. We will now need 2-3 MINIMUM volunteers from EVERY TEAM to be available to ref. The current refs (per team) are:
Cobras:Jack Belvedere, Kert Upshaw, Honoria Paine Ice Lords:Dyz Warburton, BillyBob Street, Tiro Roogus Moose: None. Whales:Bedtime Bobbysocks, Marjan Tomba Wolves: None.
This means the Moose and Wolves need to provide 2-3 persons for ref training and availability. This coming season, teams will not be able to play games until they have provided a minumum of 2-3 people who can be readily available and trained.
