I know we have a couple of other Dark Tower junkies in the league.
In April this year, there is a surprise release coming for King/Dark Tower fans: The Wind Through the Keyhole - A Dark Tower Novel - In Stores April 24th 2012.
I just finished it today (we ordered the pre-release special edition from a King-specialty dealer). At my house we have to share King books, especially Dark Tower. It was absolutely amazing.
The book takes place right after Roland and his ka'tet leave the Green City after their run-in with the Tick Tock Man, and is mostly a riveting tale Roland tells of an experience from his younger days, just after the battle of Jericho Hill and the experiences with his love Susan Delgado.
We join Roland and his ka-tet as a ferocious storm halts their progress along the Path of the Beam. As they shelter from the screaming wind and snapping trees, Roland tells them not just one strange tale, but two--and in doing so sheds fascinating light on his own troubled past.
In his early days as a gunslinger, in the guilt-ridden year following his mother's death, Roland is sent by his father to a ranch to investigate a recent slaughter. Here Roland discovers a bloody churn of bootprints, clawed animal tracks and terrible carnage--evidence that the 'skin-man',
a shape-shifter, is at work. There is only one surviving witness: a brave but terrified boy called Bill Streeter.
Roland, himself only a teenager, calms the boy by reciting a story from the Book of Eld that his mother used to read to him at bedtime, 'The Wind Through The Keyhole.'
'A person's never too old for stories,' he says to Bill. 'Man and boy, girl and woman, we live for them.' |

Finally if you're like us and find it intolerable to wait until April for the mass market release, you can order a copy from Donald Grant publishers. I will warn you it's a specialty shop--what they are selling is limited edition, slipcased special printings, signed by the artist for $75.

| I've always wanted to get into reading Stephen King... I just hate the feeling of when a book ends... Especially a good one.. I get depressed hahah and wish they could go on forever! |

| You'd probably especially like Dark Tower. Though it's long, a 7 + book series, it's compelling. Sort of a cross between a western and a fantasy/adventure like Tolkien. |

I left off on Wizard and glass about 14 years ago, before the last books were close to done and never finished the series. I have a Kindle Fire now and have been thinking about buying the whole series to start over.
I have read tons of his books and short stories though. My favorites are Desperation and The Regulators. |

| If you haven't done so already, check out "The Hunger Games" series of books. I'm about to finish the 3rd and final one and the first movie comes out on the 23rd of this month. |
