General Rules and Guidelines for GOHA forums and website

These forums are a community for communication of league and team specific information; users should respect the other participants in this community. In general, users should conduct themselves in respectful, appropriate ways that encourage inclusion and cooperation. Our users express a diverse range of opinion and knowledge, and disagreements can (and should) be handled in civilized ways inside the virtual world and not on the forums in a soap-box manner. Following are the GOHA Terms of Service for use of these forums. These terms may be updated at any time and notice will be posted here.

You agree, through your use of this service, not to post any abusive, obscene, vulgar, slanderous, hateful, threatening, argumentative or any other material that may violate any applicable laws, including copyright laws. As well, posts that are created for the explicit purpose of criticizing in an non-constructive manner, to be argumentative or insulting manner (commonly known as "flame" or "drama" posts) will come under the scrutiny of the administrator. A post which is determined to be inappropriate (in any or all of the aforementioned ways) may be locked at the discretion of the administrator, or deleted from the forums.

You agree, through your use of this service, that GOHA members who have complaints they wish to air are required not to do so on the forums, but to bring them to the direct attention of their captain or, if no resolution is reached through the team captain, to the division manager or league commissioner.

You agree, through your use of this service, that you will not use the forums to post any material which is knowingly false and/or defamatory, inaccurate, racist, abusive, vulgar, hateful, harassing, argumentative, obscene, profane, threatening, invasive of a person's privacy, or otherwise violating of any law. Posts should not contain defamatory statements or potentially harmful allegations against a particular person. Posts that do not conform to this standard will be deleted.

You agree, through your use of this website, not to upload to the site any pictures for Photo album, or profile, or any area of the website that consist of images that are defamatory, racist, abusive, vulgar, hateful, harassing, obscene, profane, threatening, invasive of a person's privacy, or otherwise violating of any law.

The administratorsof this forum will attempt to remove or edit any generally objectionable material as quickly as possible. However, it is impossible to review every message before anyone would see it. Therefore, you acknowledge that all posts made to these forums express the views and opinions of the author and not the administrators (except for posts by these people) and hence they will not be held liable. The content of all posts remain the property of their respective authors, and can not be republished elsewhere in any form without the knowledge and consent of the author.

In the event of inappropriate activity on these forums, violators may be subject to disciplinary action by the administrator, including but not limited to: a warning from an administrator, a temporary ban from the forums, or a permanent ban if necessary. Furthermore, the administrator of this forum has the right to remove, edit, move, or close any topic at any time should they see fit.

You agree, through your use of this website, to your e-mail information being stored in a database. While your private information will not be disclosed to any third party without your consent, the administrator cannot be held responsible for any hacking attempt that may lead to the data being compromised. Your email address is generally used only to confirm your registration details and password and to send new passwords should you forget your current one. Occasionally, the administrators may be required to contact you via your email address. Additionally, the email is used to automatically send out game and event reminders. Therefore, a valid email address is required. You can elect not to receive automatic emails by going into your profile and un-checking the box that indicates you wish to receive the automatic emails.

You agree, through your use of this website, if granted administrative rights for purpose of scheduling and roster placement, you will not use those rights to moderate forums, edit management or rules pages, delete users, release e-mail or IP information, edit personal information other than your own, or otherwise make changes which result in lost information.
